Arklow Rowing Club was established in 1990 with a borrowed boat and no clubhouse. Since then we have expanded greatly and now have impressive facilities which include a large boat house, gym, traditional East Coast Skiffs, and offshore class boats which are used to compete at the highest level in the World Coastal Championships.
Members train on the Avoca River and off the coast of Arklow. Our members enjoy full use of the clubhouse facilities whether it be for competition or recreational use.
Arklow Rowing Club is lucky to have access to both the river and the sea. When the weather is too bad to venture out to sea we are often able to continue our training on the Avoca river.
Arklow Rowing Club has an impressive clubhouse which includes a boat house, meeting room and a training hall which comprises of rowing machines and weights.
Arklow Rowing Club is managed by a committee. This committee is the decision-making forum for the organisation and ensures that it is well-informed in its decisions through effective planning, monitoring and review of the organisation and its activities. The 2023 committee members include:
Cormac Kelly (Chairperson), Susan Dunne (Treasurer), Debbie Reid (Secretary), Katie Shelton, Eoin O Leary.
